Ex-Secret Service Agent Says He Is Concerned About Possible Copycat Attacks
Robert McDonald, a former Secret Service agent who also served as supervisor of Joe Biden's security detail when he was vice president, told BBC Radio 4 yesterday was a "good day" for the agency despite the fact that the suspect was able to get quite close to Trump.
"Compared to 13 July, where the Secret Service had some epic failures in its policies and protocols, this was a very positive reaction by them," McDonald said in reference to Trump's shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, this summer.
McDonald also shared his most pressing concern following the West Palm Beach incident.
"Copycats are who we are worried about now," McDonald said. "Thankfully, so far, injuries have been minimal but the bigger concern now is is somebody going to get a tiny bit closer? Is somebody going to have another high-powered rifle?"
