These days, the Super Bowl is as much a celebrity spectacle as it is a sports showdown.
VIPs helped pack New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome during Sunday’s big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and returning champions Kansas City Chiefs.
Early arrivals included Kevin Costner, Pete Davidson, Paul Rudd and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
No stranger to the Super Bowl, Tom Brady was suited up and ready for his second year as a Fox Sports broadcaster.
But the biggest name set to be in the crowd was none other than President Donald Trump, who touched down at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans about 90 minutes before kickoff.
While getting into the game has always meant having to splurge, this year seems to be much more accessible to sports fans with extra cash to splash.
As of Sunday morning, a StubHub search showed Super Bowl LIX tickets averaging at a bit under $2400. (That is before the dreaded service fees and sales tax, which can ratchet up the price up by another $900 or so.)
Those numbers are a significant drop from prices for last year’s NFL season finale between the Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas. Tickets for the 2024 Super Bowl soared to record prices with a pre-fee floor price of around $6,900.
