NextImg:Bill Gates Has Harsh Words For Elon Musk’s Effect On Humanity

Bill Gates didn’t mince words on what he thinks about Elon Musk in an interview with the Financial Times that was published on Thursday.

The Microsoft mogul accused the Tesla CEO of “killing the world’s poorest children” by making drastic and, in Gates’ view, misguided cuts on the U.S. Agency for International Development through the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.

Musk declared it was “time” for USAID “to die” in February and called it a “criminal organization” on social media.

Gates went on the offensive Thursday and said Musk’s actions resulted in life-saving food and medicine being allowed to go to waste in warehouses.

“The picture of the world’s richest man killing the world’s poorest children is not a pretty one,” Gates said.

Then, Gates added that Musk had cancelled grants to a hospital in Gaza Province, Mozambique, that would have helped prevent women from transmitting HIV to their babies because Musk incorrectly thought the U.S. was supplying condoms to Hamas in Gaza in the Middle East.

“I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money,” Gates said.

Musk hadn’t commented on Gates’ attack as of Thursday afternoon, but it’s safe to say he probably won’t be happy.

The two billionaires have had a long-running feud, stemming in part from disagreements over philanthropy, to Gates’ attempt to make money by shorting Tesla stock.

Gates, in January, referred to Musk’s desire to promote far-right politics around the world as “insane shit.”
