NextImg:Ben Shapiro's Mocking Of Kamala Harris' Hugs Backfires Badly
LOADINGERROR LOADING

Ben Shapiro attempted to burn Kamala Harris for hugging voters, but the attack backfired on the conservative podcaster.

On Sunday, the vice president and Democratic presidential nominee posted a video filmed at Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh that showed her hugging a voter worried about the upcoming election.

Many of Harris’ supporters liked and retweeted the video, but the wholesome content was apparently upsetting to Shapiro. “If you want your presidential candidate to hug you, please seek psychological help,” he tweeted Monday.

This was just the latest “get off my lawn” gripe from Shapiro, who protested the success of the 2023 Barbie movie by setting a trio of dolls ablaze and complained about the lyrics to the Cardi B./ Megan Thee Stallion banger “W.A.P.”

But many people on X, formerly Twitter, felt that Shapiro’s grievances about presidential candidates hugging voters suggested he has some deep personal issues.

“If you don’t want a presidential candidate capable of hugging, please seek psychological help,” Mark Cuban responded. “Empathy and kindness are skills that are possessed by great leaders in 2024.”

That’s exactly the kind of thing someone who needs psychological help because he was never hugged would say.

If you think a presidential candidate showing empathy to a voter is a reason for psychological help, you need psychological help.

Someone's parents didn't love them, huh Ben? Having empathy is a good thing, not bad. Your "candidate" is liable for sexual assault, has 26 other accusers and was a good friend of Epstein. He is also a convicted felon, is a con and fraud. I'll take the fmr prosecutor, thanks.

Empathy. It’s a requirement of any leader.

You probably don’t understand this Benjamin. Consider a time share condo in Moscow. Your
conversion is almost complete. lol

i see you've been skipping your therapy sessions again.

Others mocked Shapiro’s post by contrasting Harris’ hug with all the “weird” stuff Donald Trump and MAGA followers do.

Amen. Our kindly Ben prefers candidates who only grab you if you’re the “chosen one.”

— Gary Peterson ???????? (@GaryPetersonUSA) September 9, 2024

Yeah, I want my presidential candidate to sell me gold sneakers.

— Alex Cole (@acnewsitics) September 9, 2024

Other people brought receipts to show that hugs can be bipartisan.

Cause this is normal? pic.twitter.com/y1oeDmMBLC
