Ariana Grande paid tribute to the “Wizard of Oz” roots of “Wicked” in the sweetest way at the Oscars on Sunday night.

Grande opened the awards with a tear-jerking rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in a dazzling red dress designed by Schiaparelli.

The dress, by creative director Daniel Roseberry, clearly paid homage to Dorothy’s ruby slippers in the iconic 1939 film.

To ensure the homage wasn’t lost on anyone, there was a literal ruby slipper on the back of Grande’s custom gown in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fashion moment.

Grande’s stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, posted two photos of the gorgeous gown on her Instagram, writing, “There’s no place like home.”

The dress was Grande’s second Schiaparelli look of the night, as she also walked the red carpet in a blush-colored gown that seemingly defied gravity.

Together, Grande and Schiaparelli’s fashion potential is simply unlimited.
