Conservative attorney George Conway’s Anti-Psychopath PAC turned to clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to explain exactly why they believe former President Donald Trump is unfit to enter the Oval Office for a second term.
Four such professionals slam the Republican nominee as a “malignant narcissist” incapable of caring about anyone but himself and a “danger to the republic” in a new 60-second spot.

An open letter condemning Trump — that had been signed by 233 professionals as of early Friday ― will also run as a print ad in The New York Times, the PAC said in a statement sent to HuffPost.
The signatories “have an ethical duty to warn the public that Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy,” they write. “His symptoms of severe, untreatable personality disorder—malignant narcissism—makes him deceitful, destructive, deluded, and dangerous. He is grossly unfit for leadership.”
“Clinicians have had years to observe Donald Trump, and his behavior has long been indicative of malignant narcissism,” clinical psychologist John Gartner, the lead signatory of letter, said in a statement sent to HuffPost.
“We have a duty to warn the public about the grave danger posed by returning this man to power,” Gartner added. “Trump’s conduct recalls that of some of history’s most brutal dictators, and he has already demonstrated his willingness to wield state power to hurt his enemies without remorse. Let this be a warning.”

Longtime Trump critic Conway said the PAC, of which he is president, “was founded for one reason: to make the case to voters that Donald Trump is a narcissist and a sociopath.”
“If it wasn’t clear by his erratic, self-obsessed behavior, his pathological lying, his lack of moral conscience, his assaults of women, and his blatant disregard for the safety of others, more than 200 experts agree that he is unfit for office,” he added. “Voters need to recognize the threat we face electing this deranged man.”
The PAC said it was spending $500,000 on this campaign, its final push of the 2024 election. It has previously released videos showing Trump being condemned by his onetime allies and friends and placed mocking billboards near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and golf courses.
