A Norfolk father who recently completed treatment for bowel cancer has captured the heartfelt moment he revealed his £1million lottery windfall to his teenage son.

Paul Harvey, 51, from Attleborough, secretly filmed himself breaking the extraordinary news as his son arrived home from school last month.

The single parent, who has been raising two teenagers alone whilst battling cancer over the past two years, won the life-changing sum through the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker draw on July 4.

Harvey didn't discover his fortune until seven days after purchasing a £5 ticke

The emotional footage shows the pair embracing and jumping around their kitchen in celebration after Harvey asked his son: "How many millionaires do you know?"

Harvey didn't discover his fortune until seven days after purchasing a £5 ticket with a complimentary Lucky Dip.

An email from the National Lottery prompted him to examine his account urgently, which he initially dismissed as fraudulent.

After confirming the win was genuine through a unique raffle code match, Harvey waited anxiously for his children's return from school.

"I wanted to tell the kids in person," he explained, describing how he developed "a massive lump in my throat" whilst preparing to share the news.

When his son responded "Zero, I've got no money" to the millionaire question, Harvey embraced him tightly and exclaimed: "You f***ing do now!"

The footage captures Harvey shouting "On my life, a million pounds mate!" as father and son leap about in delight.

Harvey intends to take his children on their inaugural overseas trip to Greece, though he noted: "But first we need to get our passports."

The family currently resides in a property with insufficient bedrooms, forcing Harvey to sleep in the living room.

He plans to purchase a proper home where he can finally have his own bedroom.

Paul Harvey and his son jumped up and down when they got the news

His daughter, who has a driving test scheduled for later this year, will receive a second-hand Fiat 500 to practise in.

Harvey expressed pride in his children's accomplishments and eagerness to support their career aspirations as they approach the completion of their education. "Life hasn't always been easy, but the kids mean the world to me, and they always come first," he stated.

The father plans to assist with driving lessons, vehicles and insurance to enable college and work opportunities.

"This win gives us so many more options but I want to take my time and do it right," Harvey said.
