Sir Ed had quipped at his 2025 party conference: "Trump's America... don't let it become Farage's Britain."

But political commentator Stephen Kent and Democrat strategist Malbert Smith were at a loss for words when quizzed on just who had made the claim.

Mr Smith gave The Late Show Live host Bev Turner a simple "no" - while Mr Kent jabbed: "I'm afraid not. Is he gonna play Voldemort?"
