Lee Anderson speaks out following his resignation as Deputy Conservative Party Chairman and whether he would join Reform UK.

Lee Anderson told GB News: "I don't think I could carry on in my role as Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party. And I fundamentally disagree with the bill.

"I think most of the bill is sound. I think it can work, but we needed it beefing up. We needed it strengthening, and I can't be in a position to vote for something which I don't believe in.

"At the end of the day, small boats are coming. They'll keep coming. I want to see a situation where anybody who arrives illegally in this country has no right at all to claim asylum, no right to claim an appeal, and more importantly, no right to go missing and disappear into the country. And I think this bill could work, but it needs strengthening them. That's why I back the amendments and ultimately resigned.
