US President Donald Trump has said if "Hamas don't disarm" the US will step in and "disarm them".

“If they don't disarm, we will disarm them. And it will happen quickly and perhaps violently,” he said.

Mr Trump added he had received word from Hamas, via discussions “through my people,” that the group would disarm after he spoke to them.

He also claimed Hamas had “took out two very evil gangs” in Gaza and “killed a number of them,” a development he said “didn't bother me much.”
