Oxford Union is facing fresh controversy after its president-elect was accused of celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk in degrading social media posts.

Political commentator Chloe Dobbs branded the remarks “deeply concerning”, warning they pose a serious safety issue for high-profile speakers invited to the Union.

She said the incident undermines the society’s reputation as a champion of free speech and risks deterring major figures like Jordan Peterson from attending.
