A 22-year-old Lincolnshire man has been banned from driving after crashing his car while more than twice over the alcohol limit.
Charlie Taylor, from Bourne, lost control of his Mitsubishi Shogun following a night of drinking.
Dashcam footage captured him plotting to report a fake car theft after the incident.
In the footage, he was heard calling a friend and admitting he crashed after drink driving.
Cambridgeshire Police were alerted after a member of the public spotted the car.
Taylor appeared at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on 27 March, where he pleaded guilty to drink driving and using a vehicle without an MOT.
He was disqualified from driving for a year. The court also ordered him to pay a £480 fine.
