



More areas of the UK could be hit with heavy rain and thunderstorms as the Met Offices issues fresh yellow weather warnings into next week.
Two yellow rain alerts have been issued for Scotland and southwest England on Sunday, with a thunderstorm warning issued for the vast majority of the country on Monday.
The rain warning is in place until 9pm in the south west of England today, and will last until 12pm for Scotland.
A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Monday by the Met Office, lasting from 11am until 9pm.

The Met Office warned people in the impacted areas to prepare for power cuts and flooding of homes and businesses.
The thunderstorms could bring up to 15 to 20mm of rain within an hour, with 30mm possible in a few hours.
Chief meteorologist Andy Page said: "Intense rainfall will impact parts of the UK as thunderstorms move in from France.
"This weekend is expected to be busy on the roads as more schools in England and Wales break up for the summer holidays, so it's important people keep up to date with the very latest forecast.
"There will be spells of more pleasant weather in parts of the UK through the weekend, with some sunny spells in between systems as they move through."
The Met Office warned that there will be a chance of delays and cancellations to train and bus services.
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to tricky driving conditions or road closures.
The Met Office added that fast-flowing or deep floodwater could bring a "danger to life".

The Met Office stated: "Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly.
"When a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area."
An amber alert was in force for areas of London yesterday, with heavy downpours experienced across the capital.
It was the first time since January 2024 that an amber warning was issued for London.
