A police officer has been injured and two people have died in a series of shootings at a church and airport in Kentucky.
The state's Governor, Andy Beshear, said the suspect had been killed following an attack on Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington.
The church shooting had followed another incident at Blue Grass Airport, on the other side of the city.
Beshear said a state trooper "from the initial stop" and victims from the church were "being treated at a nearby hospital".
"Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let's give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police," he said.
The suspect shot a trooper in Fayette County, home to the airport, at 11.36am (5.36pm BST) before fleeing, according to a statement from State Police.
Police then caught up with the suspect at the church.
"There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS is on the scene providing care," the force said. "The suspect is deceased."
Blue Grass Airport confirmed in a statement that an "incident" occurred on its property.
It added that it temporarily closed a road and its terminal out of precaution. Both have since reopened.
