Two British tourists were stabbed during a horror attack on a seafront promenade in the Moroccan resort of Agadir.

Police have arrested a 33-year-old man after he attacked British couple and a Moroccan-born Belgian woman close to the beach.

After carrying out the stabbings he is alleged to have attempted to swim away from the scene.

He was later caught by police and taken into custody.

All three victims were rushed to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Two have since been released while a third remains under medical supervision.

Local media is reporting that police are investigating whether the incident is terrorist-related.
