NextImg:Travis Kelce holds back tears while embracing Taylor Swift after Kansas City Chiefs win Super Bowl

Travis Kelce looked close to tears as he shared a heartwarming embrace with Taylor Swift after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime at Super Bowl LVIII.

Kansas City became the first time since 2005 to win back-to-back Super Bowls in dramatic fashion.

Patrick Mahomes put in another MVP performance as the NFL showpiece went into overtime for only the second time in the sport's illustrious history.

He threw the winning touchdown pass with the Chiefs celebrating wildly with confetti raining down on the field.

Kelce was in a party mood on stage with a beaming smile as he lifted the Lombardi Trophy aloft.

Swift, who had flown from Japan on Saturday evening to attend the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, came down from the stands to show her support for her boyfriend.

She cheered and clapped as Kelce lapped up the applause on stage, who confidently said the Chiefs will be back next year vying for a third consecutive title.

"We've been fighting for this all year," he said.

"The goal has always been to get three [in a row] but you can't do it without getting two and we've had a target on our back all year.

"We get a chance to do it all again next year. I'll see you there. Viva Las Vegas!"

Emotions were clearly running high as he stepped off the stage to hug Swift for the first time since winning his third Super Bowl.

The pair kissed repeatedly with Kelce seemingly close to tears with his eyes welling up.
