A transgender volunteer police officer raped two young girls after grooming them online, a court has heard.

Amersham Courts was told that Gwyn Samuels, born James Bubb, 27, forced one victim to perform a public sex act - which was cut short after a dog walker saw them and told her that she "enjoyed being raped".

Jurors heard that the 27-year-old posed as a 16-year-old on chat website Omegle, where the accused allegedly groomed two girls - one aged just 12.

Samuels allegedly sexually assaulted the child just before her 13th birthday after arranging to meet at a Christian festival where she was camping with her family.

The court heard that Samuels had engaged in a "BDSM" relationship with the second complainant, and apparently refused her pleas to stop when "re-enacting" a rape scene.

Prosecutor Richard Milne stated that Samuels' 12-year-old complainant thought she was in a relationship with the police volunteer, and first met at the 2018 Soul Survivor festival - where Samuels had been employed as a steward at the time.

Samuels has denied seven charges relating to the 12-year-old alleged victim, including a count of rape of a child under 13, and one count of rape in the case of the second victim.

Milne said: "Samuels confirmed to the girl that they were in a relationship, but that it had to be hidden when they were in public."

The court heard that Samuel met the girl in a park the following year while the young girl was staying with her parents in London and the accused allegedly groped the victim through her underwear.

Jurors were told that the victim told Samuels to stop, but had been forced to perform oral sex, which was only stopped after seeing a nearby dog-walker.

When the young girl was aged 13 or 14, it is alleged that Samuels met her at the 27-year-old's London flat, where the accused allegedly raped her.

During the incident, the court heard that Samuel would "choke, punch and hit" the victim and told the underaged victim that she "enjoyed being raped".

It is alleged that the sexual activity continued for three years.

The girl reported the accused on the Metropolitan Police's website, before the police arrested the 27-year-old last year and interviewed another girl who had been in a five-year relationship with Samuel.

The court heard that Samuel would engage in "knife play", carry out rape scenarios and would restrain the second alleged victim without consent using "officer training techniques".

In relation to the second female, prosecutor Milne said: "She describes the relationship as not healthy.

"She told police some of the sexual encounters were not entirely consensual.

"‘The complainant stated that she would say no or stop to Samuels when she no longer consented and she would carry on.

"The complainant cannot recall how many times this happened."

The trial is taking place at Amersham Law Courts in Buckinghamshire and is set to last six days.
