Tommy Robinson appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday to deny harassing two Daily Mail journalists.

The 42-year-old activist, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, faces two counts of harassment causing fear of violence.

The charges relate to his alleged conduct towards the two reporters between August 5 and 7, 2024.

Robinson, from Luton in Bedfordshire, entered not guilty pleas to both charges during the hearing.

The former leader of the now-defunct English Defence League was required to attend court following his release from prison just over a week ago.

Robinson was released from HMP Woodhill on May 27 after serving time for breaching an injunction.

He had been jailed last October after admitting multiple breaches of a 2021 court order.

The injunction had prohibited him from repeating false allegations against a Syrian refugee who had successfully sued him for libel.

Robinson had wrongly claimed in an online video that the Syrian teenager was a violent thug.

He later repeated these false allegations 10 times, including during a rally at London's Trafalgar Square last year.

His original 18-month sentence was reduced by four months at the High Court.

Upon his release from HMP Woodhill, Robinson was filmed speaking on his X social media channel for approximately 20 minutes.

He appeared with longer hair and a bushy beard, wearing a rosary around his neck as he left the prison.

The video marked his first public appearance following his reduced sentence.
