NextImg:Three SHOCK graphs expose who is REALLY crossing the Channel in small boats - and it's NOT women and children

A bombshell new report breaks down the small boat arrivals by age, gender and nationality.

It is often claimed that women and children are fleeing persecution, but now, a special report by up Stand for Our Sovereignty and Facts4EU for GB News can exclusively reveal that the majority crossing the Channel are men of fighting age.

The shock revelation comes a week after the People's Channel blew the lid on how many migrants have moved into hotels since Sir Keir Starmer swept to power last July.

According to the latest figures, out of the 38,023 illegal small boat migrant arrivals recorded up until March, 87 per cent were male (see chart below).

Meanwhile, just 13 per cent of those crossing the Channel were found to be women.

This is despite the claim from Treasury Minister Darren Jones earlier this year that "the majority of the people in these boats" are women and children.

Speaking on BBC Question Time in June, he continued: “When there are babies and children, put into that position by human-trafficking gangs, who are coming across in the Channel with skin burns from the oil from those boats mixing with the salt sea water, I would ask any of you to look at those babies and children and say, ‘go back to where you came from’."

Jones later lashed out at "misrepresentation" of his remarks, admitting that the "overall majority" of illegal small boat migrants are men, but "not 'north of 90 per cent' as Reform claimed".

Of the 31,786 male migrants recorded up to March, which includes boys and older men, a total of 25,879 were of "fighting age" and therefore between 18-39 years old, the report also found (see chart below).

In contrast, only 5,907 males were over the age of 39.

Furthermore, the top countries these migrants are coming from are currently Afghanistan, Syria and Eritrea, the report found.

Figures show 5,766 of the more than 38,000 who crossed the Channel up to the end of March were from Afghanistan.

The illegal boat migrants were found to have come from a total of 82 different countries in total (see chart below).

Reacting to the report, Reform UK's Deputy Leader Richard Tice told GB News: “We will never grow the economy and improve people’s living standards if we don’t tackle this escalating crisis and others like them.

“This latest asylum report from Stand for Our Sovereignty and GB News confirms nearly nine out of ten boat migrants are male and over 80 per cent of these are men of fighting age – 18-39 years old. Last week’s report put the lie to Labour’s claims over hotels, uncovering the latest official figures showing over 2,700 more migrants in hotels since Starmer came to power.

“Reform UK is the only major party people can trust to get to grips with this crisis and put the country back on the path to security and growth.”

The bombshell statistics come a day after a grim new milestone was passed: 107 people were found to have crammed onto just one migrant boat overnight in the largest single load to arrive on UK shores.

Figures released this week showed a total of 50,227 small boat crossings have been recorded on Starmer's watch.

The milestone has been reached seven months faster than under his predecessor, Rishi Sunak, despite Labour's promise in its manifesto to "smash the criminal boat gangs".

On Sunak’s 403rd day in office – the point at which 50,000 was reached for Starmer – some 36,079 migrants had arrived in small boats.

In response to the new record, Conservative shadow home secretary Chris Philp said: “Labour has surrendered our borders, and the consequences are being felt in our communities, from rising crime to shocking cases of rape and sexual assault by recent arrivals.”

He accused the Government of having “scrapped Conservative deterrents and created the conditions for chaos”.

“This is an invasion Labour are too cowardly to confront," Philp added.

GETTY

Earlier this month, the Government began detaining migrants under a new “one in, one out” deal with France.

UK officials aim to make referrals for returns to France within three days of a migrant’s arrival by small boat, while French authorities will respond within 14 days.

An approved asylum seeker in France will be brought to the UK under a safe route as part of the exchange.

A Home Office spokesperson said in an earlier statement: "Through international intelligence sharing under our Border Security Command, enhanced enforcement operations in Northern France and tougher legislation in the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill, we are strengthening international partnerships and boosting our ability to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal gangs whilst strengthening the security of our borders."

With record numbers still crossing, GB News' Home Editor Mark White has described Labour's new migrant policy as "business as usual".
