A staycation is a great way to discover what the UK has to offer, including seeing some of its most snap-worthy landmarks.

A new study has found Britain's most photogenic landmarks, analysing Instagram hashtags, TikTok searches and TripAdvisor reviews to determine which locations offer the best photography opportunities.

The research by Adobe Express looked at social media engagement and search volumes to rank destinations across the UK. With more than five million photographs taken daily and UK road trips increasing in popularity, the study aimed to help visitors capture memorable images at iconic locations.

The analysis factored in "photo opportunity" mentions on TripAdvisor alongside social media metrics to create a definitive ranking of the nation's most photographable sites.

The study incorporated the percentage of five-star reviews, "photo opportunity" mentions, Instagram hashtag volumes, TikTok search frequencies and overall landmark search volumes.

Each location received a total score out of 100 based on these combined metrics. The research comes as more than 43 million international visitors are expected to visit the UK throughout 2025, alongside a growing trend of staycations.

The analysis covered must-see landmarks across the UK, from Edinburgh Castle in Scotland to the White Cliffs of Dover in southern England, including historic sites, natural wonders and urban attractions.

The top three landmarks worth seeing were all in London, meaning it could be a strong contender for your 2025 scenic staycation.

  1. Big Ben (61.78)
  2. London Eye (56.57)
  3. Buckingham Palace (50.43)
  4. Edinburgh Castle (40.08)
  5. Stonehenge (31.33)
  6. Giant's Causeway (28)
