A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot outside a bar near Wembley Stadium.

Forensic officers established a crime scene after the shooting took place about 5.30am in north west London.

Police say the 18-year-old was gunned down near a bar on Atlantic Way yesterday morning, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken in critical condition to a major trauma centre and is still being treated, the Metropolitan Police said.

The investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Chief Superintendent Tony Josephs said the force recognised "the shock and impact this incident will have on the community".

"There will be an increased police presence in the local area," he added.

"We'd urge anyone who may know something about this incident, however small it may seem, to please get in touch and let us know."
