A teenager has died after a tree fell on his car due to Storm Eowyn.

The 19-year-old died after the incident in Mauchline, East Ayrshire.

Scottish police said the incident ocurred at 6.45am on Friday. The teen was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment where he saldy succumbed to his injuries. The incident happened before a red weather warning came into force in Scotland due to the approaching storm. This is the second death in relation to the storm after 20-year-old Kacper Dudek died in County Donegal, Ireland also from a falling tree on his vehicle.
