



A fire has erupted at Sydney Airport in Australia after what sounded like an explosion on a plane.
Passengers reported hearing a loud bang aboard their Qantas flight to Brisbane, which was due to takeoff at 1pm today (local time).
The plane circled and landed safely back with 174 people on board.
Other flights have been aborted as a result, while the emergency services rush in to deal with the incident.

Aviation Rescue and Firefighting is on the scene with Fire and Rescue NSW to extinguish the blaze next to the airport’s third runway.
Passenger Georgina Lewis spoke to Australian news outlet, 9News and said: "One of the engines appeared to have gone.
She added: "The pilot came on 10 minutes later to explain that they had a problem with a right-hand engine on take-off."
