NextImg:Sky TV is DOWN: Over 30,000 people unable to watch television on Sky Q due to major UK outage

If you're struggling to watch Sky TV tonight, you're not alone. A major outage has left more than 30,000 customers across the UK unable to access television services since around 9:20pm this evening.

Thousands of viewers have reported problems with their Sky boxes, with many experiencing complete signal loss. The widespread technical issues began shortly after 9pm and are continuing to affect households nationwide.

As of 10:30pm, there appears to be no sign of improvement, with complaints continuing to flood in from frustrated customers unable to watch their favourite programmes.

Customers are reporting specific error messages on their devices. One user wrote: "Mine [Sky box] says 'you can't watch TV at the moment due to connectivity problem'. But my internet is fine and the box is connected. Has to be [a problem] at Sky's end."

Many viewers are having to power cycle their equipment in attempts to restore service. One person on X noted: "Loads reporting Sky TV boxes randomly turning themselves off and unable to turn on again without power cycling first."

Others have found themselves completely locked out of the service, with one customer lamenting: "Mines completely gone off, can't get on the app. Can't do nothing."

The outage has sparked particular frustration among Eurovision fans. One seething viewer wrote on X: "What a time for a nationwide Sky TV to go down during @Eurovision. Hope it comes back soon."

Other social media users have expressed similar dismay at the timing of the outage. "What's going on with #SkyTV? It's crashed twice. Seems others are reporting the same," another customer complained on X.

The technical problems appear to be widespread, with users across the country experiencing similar issues. Some have reported their boxes shutting down completely, while others are unable to access any content despite having functioning internet connections.

According to Down Detector, the scale of the outage is significant. By 9:43pm, more than 10,495 people had reported problems with Sky services on the site, with that number growing to over 30,000 within the hour.

The vast majority of complaints concern Sky's television service, though a small number of customers have also reported issues with their internet connection.

Some unfortunate users are experiencing a complete blackout of all services.

As of 10:30pm, Sky has not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the outage or provided an estimated time for when services might be restored to normal.
