British holidaymakers can look forward to more comfortable flights following Ryanair's plans to deter disruptive behaviour from passengers.

The budget carrier's new measure aims to create a more pleasant travel experience by introducing hefty fines for the small minority who cause disturbances during flights.

The £500 fine represents a significant step in addressing passenger misconduct, an issue that affects airlines across the industry.

For travellers seeking stress-free journeys to their holiday destinations, this proactive approach promises to reduce the likelihood of flights being disrupted by unruly guests.

Europe's largest airline emphasised that passengers deserve to travel without unnecessary disruptions.

A Ryanair spokesperson said: "It is unacceptable that passengers are made suffer unnecessary disruption because of one unruly passenger's behaviour.

"To help ensure that our passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption caused by a tiny number of unruly passengers, we have introduced a £500 fine, which will be issued to any passengers offloaded from aircraft as a result of their misconduct.

"While these are isolated events which happen across all airlines, disruptive behaviour in such a confined shared space is unacceptable, and we hope that our proactive approach will act as a deterrent to eliminate this unacceptable behaviour onboard our aircraft."

The penalty will be applied to any passenger removed from an aircraft due to misconduct, marking a firm stance against behaviour that disrupts fellow travellers. Whilst pursuing civil damages remains an option, this minimum fine ensures immediate consequences for those who cause disturbances.

Ryanair has positioned itself as taking a leading role in tackling what it acknowledges as an industry-wide problem. The carrier stressed its commitment to maintaining punctual services and comfortable conditions for the vast majority of passengers who travel without incident.

The airline hopes this financial deterrent will help eliminate unacceptable conduct in the confined space of an aircraft cabin.

This comes as the airline shared another announcement benefiting British holidaymakers. A new route from London Luton to Wrocław, Poland, will launch in winter 2025 with eight weekly flights.

The southwestern Polish city offers British tourists unique attractions including its UNESCO-listed Centennial Hall and over 600 bronze gnome statues scattered throughout the streets. These whimsical figures, originating from 1980s political protests, have become an iconic feature drawing visitors to embark on gnome-spotting adventures.

Tickets for the new service are expected to go on sale within days, expanding Ryanair's growing network across Central and Eastern Europe.
