Britons who shop at Amazon have been issued an urgent safety warning after dangerously high levels of cadmium were found in Dervivea Metal Jewellery.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) reported that the toxic metal was detected in both rings and earrings, exceeding legal safety limits.
Those who have purchased the products should stop wearing them and contact the distributor for redress.

Cadmium poses serious health risks as it builds up in the body over time.

As a result, the jewellery fails to comply with the REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008.
To keep shoppers safe, Amazon has removed the affected jewellery listings from its marketplace.
The OPSS advised customers who have purchased these items to contact the distributor they purchased from to request redress.

This isn't the first time jewellery has been pulled from Amazon over a similar concern.
Earlier this year, necklaces and earrings were found to contain dangerous levels of cadmium, with Britons told to "stop using the products immediately".
Product and food recalls should always be taken seriously to ensure customer safety.
For the latest product recalls, Britons can visit the OPSS. For the latest food recalls, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) should be your first resort.
When supermarkets issue recalls or product withdrawals, these are usually displayed on a dedicated recall page.
