Britons have been alerted as TK Maxx issues urgent recalls for two products due to serious safety concerns.

The Erth Beauty Hair Revitalize Steamer Cap and Byblos Blu Happy Hour Eau De Toilette have been pulled from shelves, with affected shoppers told to "stop using them immediately".

Dates sold: Sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between January and April 2025

Product model number: ZT-A

The urgent recall affects a specific model of the Erth Beauty Hair Revitalize Steamer Cap sold between January and April.

It could potentially cause an electric shock or fire, according to Eclat Cosmetic Ltd, who initiated the recall. This is because the fuse inside the plug does not meet required safety standards.

Customers who have purchased the hazardous hair steamer were advised to take "immediate" action.

They were urged to stop using it immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund or replacement.

For further information, customers can contact customer service at 01923 473561 or email customerservice@tjxeurope.com in the UK. Irish customers should call 01 2476126 or use the same email address.

Shoppers were encouraged to tell fellow TX Maxx and Homesense shoppers about the recall to spread awareness about the hazard.

Product codes on price ticket and receipt: 898365, 898370, 898378

TK Maxx has issued an urgent recall for Byblos Blu Happy Hour Eau De Toilette sold in its stores between January and March 2025.

Affected products can be identified by three codes, which appear on both the price ticket and receipt.

The recall was issued because the product contains Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, also known as Lyral or HICC.

This ingredient is not authorised for use in cosmetics across Europe due to the risk of allergic reactions in "sensitised individuals".

Customers who have purchased the product were advised to stop using it "immediately".

The fragrance can be returned to any TK Maxx store for a full refund or replacement.

For further information, customers can contact TK Maxx customer service at 01923 473561 or email customerservice@tjxeurope.com. Irish customers should call 01 2476126.

Food and product recalls must always be taken seriously to ensure customer safety.

A hair brush sold on Wowcher has been recalled as it poses a "risk of electric shock".

The Office for Product Safety and Standards explained that the product was supplied with a dangerous three-pin "clover" style plug.

This type of plug does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
