The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued urgent safety alerts for two children's toys that pose significant risks.
Parents and carers should check their homes for the Get Set Play Jumbo Balloon Pumper, sold by The Works, and GRIMM's Wooden Toy Tweezers.
Officials advised that children should stop using these products straight away following the recalls.

Britons who have purchased the recalled products should 'stop using them immediately'
OPSS
The first toy recalled is the Get Set Play Jumbo Balloon Pumper by Get Set Play, sold by The Works.
According to the OPSS, this product "presents a medium risk of injuries as it can become over-pressurised and shatter", potentially causing harm to children.
The OPSS noted that the product "does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011" and has therefore been withdrawn from the market.
Affected consumers should "stop using the product immediately" and return it to any of The Works' stores for a full refund, with no receipt required.
Customers who have any queries can contact The Works' customer service team directly on 0121 313 6050 or by emailing enquiries@theworks.co.uk. For further information, consult The Works' dedicated recall site.
Type: Toys - Kitchen Toys
Brand: GRIMM’s
Model: A42128 (single wooden tweezer) and 42125 (wooden tweezer sold as part of Rainbow Bowls Sorting Game)
Sales period: October 27, 2024 - April 1, 2025
Country of origin: Germany
Product description: Wooden toy tweezers sold individually or as part of a Rainbow Bowls Sorting Game
The second recalled item is GRIMM's Wooden Toy Tweezers, which "presents a risk of choking" according to the OPSS.
The safety concern stems from a small bead that may easily detach from the product, which a young child could place in their mouth.

OPSS
Like the balloon pumper, these wooden tweezers fail to meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
Owners were instructed to "stop using affected products immediately" and to contact the distributor from whom they purchased the item to request redress.

This comes as safety alerts were issued to Amazon shoppers regarding multiple products that pose "serious" risks.
