Cheshire Farm has extended its recall of ice cream after discovering the presence of undeclared hazelnuts in the product.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned that Cheshire Farm's Biscoff ice cream poses a potential health risk to individuals with nut allergies.

The recall was initiated after it was found that hazelnuts were not listed on the product's label. It follows Cheshire Farm recalling its Caramelised Biscuit Ice Cream.

The FSA has advised that anyone with a nut allergy who has purchased the affected ice cream should not consume the product.

The FSA said: "Cheshire Farm is recalling the above products from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.

"If you have bought the above products and have an allergy to nuts do not eat them."

According to Children's Allergen Doctor, hazelnut allergies can cause several health complications.

It said possible reactions include itching sensations and swelling in the lips, tongue, or face, also known as angioedema.

Those who have purchased the affected products have been told not to consume them and return them to their place of purchase.
