Asda has issued a recall for its George Stitch and Angel 2-piece set due to a manufacturing issue with the cord length.

The retailer warned that on some garments, the cord may be too long, which could "pose a risk of injury" to children who wear them.

Barcodes: 5059201121453, 5059201121477, 5059201121491, 5059201121811, 5059201121835, 5059201121859, 5059201121873, 5059201121897 (found on the inner care label of the garment)

The retailer specified that the issue affects all sizes of the product. However, Asda clarified that only part of the set is problematic, stating: "The top in this 2-piece set is unaffected."

Customers who have purchased the affected item were advised to return it to their nearest Asda store for a full refund, with no receipt required.

"We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused," the supermarket stated.

Shoppers seeking further information can contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.

No other Asda products appear to be affected by the recall, according to the supermarket's official notice.

Food and product recalls should always be taken seriously to ensure customer safety.

Britons were recently issued a "do not eat" warning as chicken products were pulled from shelves over "serious" risks.

Officials revealed that Listeria monocytogenes was discovered in various items, which prompted the recall.

The FSA warned: "Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.

"However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.

"Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems."

The FSA advised affected shoppers: "If you have bought the products, do not eat them."

Instead, they should be returned to their place of purchase for a full refund.
