A manhunt has been launched for three prisoners who escaped jail in Buckinghamshire.

The public is being warned not to approach the men, who absconded from HMP Springhill on Monday.

Jason MacDonagh, 34, Daniel Harty, also 34 and 24-year-old Barney Casey all absconded from the low security category prison at 6pm on Monday.

The three men are known to frequent Bristol, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Leeds, Bradford, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.

Claire Busby, lead investigator at Thames Valley Police, said: "We are appealing to the public for any information around MacDonagh, Casey, and Harty's whereabouts, or anyone who may see them to get in touch.

"We would advise members of the public not to approach them if they see them, instead call 999.

"If you have any information as to where they may be, you can call 101 or make a report online.

"Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

MacDonagh is described as a white man, around 5'9" tall, of medium build with ginger hair. He has facial hair and was last seen wearing grey tracksuit trousers.

Casey is described as a white man, around 5'9" tall, of small build and has black hair. He has slight facial hair, a moustache and a goatee beard. He was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit.

Harty is described as a white man, around 5'9" tall, of slim build with black hair and a black beard. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and grey joggers.

An investigation is underway to determine how the three prisoners escaped from HMP Springhill, a category D men's prison.

The manhunt for MacDonagh, Harty, and Casey comes just weeks after the People's Channel revealed a drug dealer who was spotted escaping HMP Kirkham by GB News’ Sophie Reaper more than six months ago is still on the loose.

GB News caught the moment Elliot Riley, 31, escaped the Category D prison on October 22 after clambering over the barbed-wire-topped fence and being driven away by a waiting vehicle.

Sophie Reaper visited the jail while 50 inmates were being released as part of Labour’s efforts to curb overcrowding in prisons.

Riley was not included among the convicts scheduled for release.

Immediately following his escape, Lancashire Police launched a search operation to recapture the 31-year-old.

Back in May, GB News revealed the search for Riley was still underway despite Lancashire Police and the Ministry of Justice saying they were "urgently working" to recapture the inmate.

Riley was sentenced to spend eight years behind bars after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply drugs and possession of criminal property.

He was sentenced back in April 2024 following a police sting which resulted in 16 men being jailed.

A Prison Service spokesman said of Riley: "We’re urgently working with the police to recapture this prisoner.

"Absconds are rare, but those who break the rules face tough consequences, including being moved to tougher conditions and extra jail time."
