



An aircraft has crashed in a field near an RAF base in the East Midlands.
Emergency services responded to reports in Coningsby just before 1.20pm of an aircraft crashing in a field.
Officers from Lincolnshire police believe the aircraft is single occupant and nobody else is thought to have been involved.
It is believed a rescue helicopter arrived at the scene after journeying from Humberside.
A spokesperson from Lincolnshire Police said: "Police and other emergency services are currently in attendance at an incident in Coningsby following reports made to us just before 1.20pm of an aircraft crashing in a field.
"It is believed to be a single occupant aircraft and nobody else is thought to have been involved.
Road closures are in place in the areas of Dogdyke Road and Sandy Bank.
"Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Further updates will follow as soon as available."
