Former England star Paul Gascoigne has been rushed to hospital after being found "semi-conscious" at home.
Gascoigne, 58, was said to have been found in his Dorset bedroom by a friend before being admitted to intensive care.
The ex-Spurs, Rangers and Lazio hero was later moved to an acute medical unit in a "stable condition", The Sun revealed on Sunday.
Steve Foster, his driver and personal assistant who found him, said the Italia '90 icon would "like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best".
"Paul is in hospital, which is the best possible place for him to be right now," Foster added.
The 58-year-old is now expected to remain under medical supervision for "several days".
