NextImg:Neighbour row erupts as man takes revenge on 'nosey' homeowner who installed 'spy' camera

A man has taken revenge on his "nosey" neighbour who installed a security camera pointing at his garden.

The disgruntled homeowner claims his neighbour was "spying" on his family with the CCTV camera, saying it was his "hobby".

In hopes of getting his privacy back, he decided to put together a makeshift screen and position it on top of his shed, blocking the camera from seeing into his garden.

Showing a clip of the hand-built screen on TikTok, he wrote: "After my neighbour [was] spying on my family, I've had to erect this monstrosity.

"Point of View: when your neighbour’s hobby is filming your garden…. not anymore."

The video has attracted more than 300,000 views and hundreds of comments, with some people sharing similar stories and offering advice.

One social media user wrote: "My neighbour did this. We did it back, he called the police to complain about our camera. Long story short he removed his camera."

Another person branded the positioning of the camera as "100 per cent unacceptable."

"You can't be pointing them into people's gardens," the woman commented.

"[My camera] is facing down so it covers my garden and part of the back lane. The way the houses are built in the UK doesn't help. We are all too close to each other."

Referencing the screen, another TikTok user said: "Good idea but I'd make something higher and more permanent."

The man has previously shared other clips of the camera to the video-sharing app.

In one TikTok post, he referenced his "nosey neighbour" and included the audio: "Ask our neighbour to respect our privacy - his solution? More surveillance.

"Welcome to the reality show I didn’t sign up for."

The man added: "When you politely ask your neighbour not to film in your garden, so he naturally installs a second one."

In a third video, he zoomed in on the CCTV camera and said: "Is this weird or is it me? The only thing he can view is me in my garden."

In response, one TikTok user wrote: "I couldn't live like this. Time to move out."
