A lucky winner has claimed a massive £8.4million prize on the National Lottery.

The Lotto draw took place at 8pm, with the winning numbers being 4, 11, 34, 51, 54, 55, and the bonus ball was 57.

The top prize, a staggering £8.4 million, was claimed by a single lucky winner who matched all six numbers.

Two other fortunate players matched five numbers plus the bonus ball, each securing £1million.

Elsewhere, 20 other players matched five numbers and took home prizes of £1,750 each.

It comes as a lucky EuroMillions ticket holder in Ireland recently scooped the jackpot of £208million.

Three ticket holders came very close, with two from the UK securing all five numbers in the main draw.

However, only one of the lucky stars. They will have won over £6.2million each.

The £208million prize surpasses the previous UK record of £195million won anonymously in July 2022, as well as the £184.3million claimed by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester in May 2022.

Elsewhere, a lorry driver who scooped up a £5.2million jackpot has revealed his surprise first purchase since becoming a millionaire and quitting his job.

Gary MacDonald, 60, began the day that would change his life forever by waking up at 5.20am for his shift as a delivery driver.

He checked his phone and saw that he had received an email from the National Lottery, telling him that he had been successful in the April 16 draw.

MacDonald, from Barking, east London, at first thought that he was £35 richer, before he re-read the message and realised there was an additional prize of more than £5.2million.
