NextImg:National Lottery issues urgent plea as unaware mystery millionaire could lose entire winnings in just days

A lottery player has just three days remaining to claim their £1million EuroMillions prize before it expires on Wednesday.

The National Lottery has issued renewed appeals for the holder of ticket code XDQM 36414 to come forward and collect their winnings from the December 27 draw.

The mystery winner has remained silent for nearly six months despite multiple attempts to trace them.

If the prize remains unclaimed by the Wednesday deadline, the £1million will be redirected to National Lottery-funded projects throughout the UK.

Time is running out for the fortunate ticketholder to secure their life-changing windfall.

The winning ticket was purchased in Wiltshire for the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on December last year 27.

Under lottery rules, winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

The National Lottery operator Allwyn has conducted an extensive six-month search for the ticketholder.

Despite these efforts, no valid claim has been received.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: "We are rapidly approaching the deadline to claim this amazing EuroMillions prize, but we've not yet been contacted by the rightful ticketholder to claim their money, despite numerous appeals.

"There is still time though, but there are just days left for this ticketholder to get in touch."

Carter revealed that valid claims for major unclaimed prizes have been submitted at the eleventh hour previously.

"We've received valid claims on major National Lottery unclaimed prizes right up to the very last minute before," he said.

The National Lottery has urged anyone who believes they might hold the winning ticket to contact them immediately on 0333 234 5050 or via email at help@national-lottery.co.uk.

Carter issued a final plea to potential winners: "All that we ask is for all EuroMillions players in the area, and those who might have visited family and friends in Wiltshire over the festive season, to take some time out of their day to have a search and check their tickets.

"That five minutes out of your day could end up making you a millionaire."
