Conservative MP Esther McVey has claimed that the Tories will rid the army of "woke nonsense."

It comes after defence secretary Grant Shapps said that a "woke culture has infiltrated" the armed forces.

Speaking to GB News Mcvey said: "Immediately we've got to stop this craziness.

"We want the best people for a job and not some fixed quota. I think that is what is essential."
