NextImg:Motorola launches trio of Android phones starting from £199 with 50MP cameras, water resistance, and 5G

Want to upgrade to a new Android phone? You're in luck — Motorola just launched a trio of new smartphones, with prices starting from and maxing out at .

Despite the affordable price tags, the latest entries in the moto g lineup still pack a punch. All three handsets have been rated IP68, which means they can survive immersion in one metre of water for up to 30 minutes — so they'll be able to shrug-off an accidental swan-dive into the toilet, or an unscheduled bath in a spilled drink. Motorola has also fitted all three devices with 30W TurboPower wired charging support, which can restore a full day's power after 30 minutes plugged into the wall. You'll also find fast 5G internet and a 50-megapixel main camera on each of these smartphones.

The , , and are available to order now.

Motorola has refreshed the most affordable entry in its moto g lineup with a 6.7" Full HD+ display, Dolby Atmos tuned stereo speakers and fast wired 30W charging. Out of the box, Motorola's new handset will be running Android 15, with a free update to its successor on the way

Motorola's new moto g lineup includes a bolstered g86 handset with a 6.7" display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 28% more resolution than previous models. The pOLED panel has also allowed Motorola to design thinner borders for a more immersive viewing experience. There's also support for 5G and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls

This supercharged version of the moto g86 5G is called "Power" — and for good reason. This handset is equipped with the largest battery of any of these devices, tipping the scales at 6720mAh. That mammoth lithium-ion cell should provide 53-hours of usage on a single charge, Motorola says

First up, boasts a 6.72" Full HD+ touchscreen display with an edge-to-edge design that's interrupted only by a small hole-punch that houses the 32MP front-facing camera used for video calls and selfies. Motorola has worked hard to improve the durability of its most affordable handset in the moto g lineup.

The Chicago-based firm has improved drop performance threefold compared with the previous generation, so the handset should be able to survive a few accidental drops.

Powering this affordable Android device is a six-nanometre MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. Motorola has equipped the handset with 256GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD. That's plenty of free space for your apps, photos, music, podcasts, and any TV shows or films you've downloaded for a long journey.

On the back, you'll find a triple-camera with a 50MP main sensor, an ultrawide, and macro lens for close-up shots.

There's also stereo speakers with support for the Dolby Atmos standard, and an impressive 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery cell that Motorola claims will last up to 40 hours of usage before you'll need to reach for a charger.

It lands with the same screen size as its more affordable sibling at 6.7", but upgrades the panel to a Super HD pOLED. That improved screen also includes a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother animations and fast-paced gameplay.

Motorola says this upgraded display delivers 28% more resolution than previous models, with pOLED technology enabling thinner borders and a more immersive viewing experience.

Photography is handled by the 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera, which includes Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) to eliminate handshake and improve shots in low-light. Like the moto g56, there's also an ultrawide and macro camera.

On the front, Motorola has equipped its handset with a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Everything is enhanced by the AI-powered Photo Enhancement Engine baked into this device. Motorola says this works in real-time to apply precise colour and brightness adjustments.

Powering these AI smarts — and everything else on the device — is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage for your photos, videos, apps, games, and more.

Again, Motorola is making some bold claims around battery life. It claims you'll be able to enjoy 41 hours between charges, thanks to the 5,200mAh capacity cell. You'll benefit from speedy wired charging, thanks to TurboPower 30W technology baked into the handset.

The moto g86 arrives in four Pantone-curated colours: Cosmic Sky, Chrysanthemum, Golden Cypress, and Spellbound.

Rounding out the new lineup is the .

This is a supercharged version of the moto g86 5G above, equipped with the largest battery of any of these devices, tipping the scales at 6720mAh. That mammoth lithium-ion cell should provide 53-hours of usage on a single charge, the US manufacturer says.

Like the other models from the refresh moto g lineup, you'll be able to refill that impressive capacity with Motorola's 30W TurboPower system that delivers hours of power in just half an hour.

Enjoy photographs, apps, games and video on a 6.67" Super HD pOLED display with HDR10+ support and 4,500 nits peak brightness — that's 2.8x brighter than the previous generation and more than enough to make everything visible in direct sunlight, Motorola says. That panel offers 28% higher resolution than the previous generation.

This is the only screen in the new lineup that includes Motorola's Water Touch technology, which means you'll be able to continue using the touchscreen with wet fingers — perfect for taking snaps in the sea over the summer. Like its siblings, it also boasts an IP68 water resistant design, so there's nothing to worry about if you accidentally drop this 5G-equipped handset into the pool, kitchen sink, or a pint in a beer garden.

On top of the boosted visuals on-screen, the moto g86 Power 5G features stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos for an immersive experience, the brand claims.

Powering the moto g86 Power 5G is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of built-in storage. Strenghtened Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the touchscreen.

It's available in four Pantone-curated colours: Chrysanthemum, Cosmic Sky, Golden Cypress, and Spellbound.
