The wife of a British businessman who suddenly died whilst on holiday in Morocco has “inherited his entire fortune” after he reportedly converted to Islam.

The family of Allen McKenna, 47, say they want answers, after being left with no information as to how he died or where he is buried.

According to his Moroccan girlfriend Majda Mjaoual, 25, he died of a heart attack.

Mjaoual said she buried his body two days later, though has allegedly not given the location of the body.

McKenna’s father, Alan Moorhead, said he received a call from the 25-year-old on February 22, with the 47-year-old’s body in the background.

The family said that she has since stopped contact with them after failing to answer any texts or calls, leaving them in the dark.

Speaking to MailOnline, Mjaoual said that the death is a “personal matter” and that her husband’s father is now “harassing” her.

She claims that when McKenna died, she asked Moorhead if he wanted to come out to Morocco, but he refused.

Moorhead “wasn’t happy” about the couple’s relationship, a friend of the 47-year-old said.

They had been together for seven years at the time of McKenna’s death, meeting in 2017 and marrying some time after. They first lived in London before moving to Harrogate.

The pal added: “Allen’s conversion really rankled with his dad and this is what has caused all the problems, he’s been threatening her and accusing her of all sorts.”

They said that the 47-year-old had been in hospital for weeks before he died.

The publication said it has seen a death certificate dated one day after they arrived in Casablanca. It is signed by Dr Abdelilah Lekbiri, a forensic medicine specialist.

Moorhead, who also lives in Adelaide, previously told local news: “It's soul destroying. I don't know where to move, I don't know what to do.

“He deserves better. He deserves to come back here to South Australia and then all the family can have closure.

“It's just unbelievable. She's not answering any messages, phone calls, texts - nothing. I just want my lad back.”

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Morocco and are in contact with the local authorities.”

North Yorkshire Police, Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Interpol are also said to be investigating.
