NextImg:Molly-Mae Hague opens up on 'savage' trolling about her weight: 'Every day there's pressure'

Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about the "savage" online trolling she faces regarding her weight in her new Amazon Prime Video docuseries.

The 25-year-old Love Island star, who rose to fame in 2019 alongside boxer Tommy Fury, revealed how cruel comments about her appearance have affected her.

Molly-Mae, who is mother to two-year-old daughter Bambi, has rarely spoken about this dark side of fame until now.

The influencer candidly discussed in a new interview how the negative remarks about her body and weight leave their mark on her mental wellbeing.

During a L'Oréal fashion event, Molly-Mae was encouraged by make-up artist Val Garland to walk the catwalk.

She declined, saying: "I just couldn't, these legs aren't cut out for that - maybe next year."

When asked about her body confidence, she admitted she's been on a "journey" since giving birth.

"I've got a lot of stretchmarks. My hips are a lot wider now," she revealed to The Daily Star.

"Every day, there's pressure to look a certain way. What's hard is I see a lot of comments online."

She added: "When you see hundreds of people writing really negative things about you, my appearance, my weight - it can be a bit savage sometimes."

A source told OK! Magazine: "Molly-Mae is very successful but underneath it all, she's just a very normal girl. It's overwhelming being in the public eye sometimes, everything is under such scrutiny."

The insider added that while she understands scrutiny comes with success, "the comments about her appearance hurt."

"She's been broken-hearted so her confidence took a knock, but her main focus is her daughter and family - not her weight," the source continued.

"It's devastating when people write horrible things about her appearance. No one would sign up for that."

Despite her struggles, Molly-Mae revealed she has developed coping mechanisms for public appearances.

"I can walk into a room and pretend that I am [confident]," she admitted in the docuseries.

She confessed that genuine confidence is something she's "really going to work on" after watching models on the catwalk.

"A lot of these women walking the catwalk have had children, and they really owned their bodies," she observed.

She jokingly added: "When is the cut-off point, where I can't use the baby as an excuse any more, as to why [I'm] not in shape? I'll use it forever!"

The docuseries also touches on Molly-Mae's relationship with Tommy Fury, which has been under intense public scrutiny.

The couple, who split last summer after five years together, have since rekindled their romance.

In the show, Molly-Mae confirms they're back together and hints at possibly having another child.

"The dream is still the same - that we will get to the place one day where we'll all be happy in that house together - have more children hopefully, and just have a nice, happy life together," she says.

Her sister Zoe admits in the series that she's "hated" seeing Molly-Mae so sad.
