Last year’s small boat crossings total is set to be smashed within weeks, GB News’s Home and Security Editor Mark White has predicted.
It has been another chaotic day on the world's busiest shipping lane with more than 600 migrants flocking to Britain.
Speaking on the People’s Channel, Mark made a grizzly prediction as to what comes next.
“We can confirm to you now that more than 25,000 small boat migrants have crossed the Channel since the beginning of the year”, he said.

“600 plus have crossed today alone, all 600 having reached UK waters and been taken to Dover Harbour and it may continue to grow because as we speak, more small boats have been spotted in French waters.
“They are under escort by French patrol boats as they make their way towards UK waters.
“If they make it, it could be at least 750 today, we’re already at 25,150 for the year so far. It shows how quickly things can clock up. You’re seeing Border Force boats effectively stacking up Dover Harbour.
“The Border Force was completely overwhelmed. They were unable to cope and they called on the services of multiple lifeboats.”

He continued: “We keep seeing, when the weather allows, record numbers. We are more than 50 per cent ahead of where we were at this point last year and we’re only just getting into the busy summer months.
“If seven days with not the best weather can produce this, six weeks of reasonably good weather is more than enough to get to the 36,800 total of last year. Then we’ve still got much of the good summer months ahead.
“August, September and October are often busy months. Without a doubt, we’re going to pass last year’s total. It’s where we get to, do we beat the all time record of more than 46,000?
“There’s certainly potential for that given the rate these migrants are crossing the Channel.”

A man died onboard a small boat attempting to reach the UK on Saturday.
Those on board the boat had been trying to reach the English Channel but turned back towards northern France on Saturday morning.
He was having a cardiac arrest when the boat returned to France and died soon after despite emergency services intervening at the scene.
