



Eight people have been charged following Tommy Robinson’s “Unite the Kingdom” protest on Saturday.
The charges include assault and public order offences.
The demonstration, which was overwhelmingly attended by peaceful protestors, left 26 police officers injured, the Metropolitan Police said.
The force estimated that 150,000 people were present in the streets of London, describing the attendance as "a very large turnout".

Three of the men, Richard Hamilton, 42, Matthew Wilkins, 55, and Jamie Brewer, 35, appeared in court today.
While the remaining five Lewis Siverns, 33, Aaron Wren, 36, James Moore, 50, Paul Newman, 56, and Paul Newman, 56, will appear at a later date.
The Met has also issued photos of 11 people who officers are trying to trace in relation to the disorder.
Officers want to speak to them in relation to a range of public order offences and assaults on emergency services workers, the force said.
At least 25 people were initially arrested during the rally on Saturday, the Met police confirmed following the demonstration.
Speakers included US billionaire Elon Musk, right-wing French politician Eric Zemmour, Danish People's Party leader Morten Messerschmidt, Petr Bystron of the right-wing Alternative for Germany party, Polish MEP Dominik Tarczynski, Belgian activist Filip Dewinter, and Mayor of London challenger Ant Middleton.
Around 5,000 people were also involved in an "anti-racism" counter-demonstration.
The Metropolitan Police said there were several incidents of violent disorder, the majority of which were linked to the Unite the Kingdom event.
