



Hashem Abedi has refused to appear for his court hearing, where he is charged with three counts of attempted murder.
The 28-year-old Manchester Arena bombing plotter was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Abedi, who was jailed for a minimum of 55 years in 2020 for helping to plan the suicide bombing with his brother who detonated the device, is accused of attacking the four officers at high-security HMP Frankland on April 11.
Three prison officers were taken to hospital with serious injuries following an incident. It is alleged they were attacked with hot oil and makeshift weapons in an ambush.
