A man has been arrested in Windsor for breaching airspace restrictions in place for President Donald Trump’s state visit.

Thames Valley Police said the man, from Brentford, west London, was arrested at Windsor Great Park for allegedly flying a drone that breached the restricted area.

The man remains in custody and the incident is being investigated under aviation legislation.

Restrictions are in place over and around Windsor between September 16 and 18, covering all aircraft including drones.

The force said: “This serves as a reminder that airspace restrictions are currently in place for the state visit of President of the United States of America Donald Trump, and any breaches will be dealt with robustly.”

Additional airspace restrictions have also been announced over Chequers ahead of the upcoming visit, where Mr Trump will be hosted by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Thursday.

President Trump will touch down in the UK on Tuesday ready to embark on his second state visit.

The American leader is being feted with a stay in Windsor Castle where he will be hosted by the King and treated to a ceremonial welcome on Wednesday and a lavish state banquet.

Demonstrators from the Stop Trump Coalition will take to Windsor high street on Tuesday evening, followed by a march through central London the next day ending with a mass rally in Parliament Square.

Separately, Socialist Students said hundreds of students have pledged to walk out of schools, colleges and universities across the country on Wednesday.

Stop Trump Coalition spokeswoman Zoe Gardner told ITV News: “There is an enormous line between a relationship and diplomacy with the United States, and letting this toddler come here and use our country as a theme park and honouring him with a red carpet and a banquet with the King.

“There is miles between those two positions, and what we’re doing today is shameful and humiliating for the UK.”

Ms Gardner said there will be "people lining the streets in Windsor" protesting against the visit, as well as a demonstration in London on Wednesday during the president’s two-day state visit.
