



A man has been arrested after a major incident was declared in Leeds today, with three people injured in an attack involving weapons.
West Yorkshire Police responded to reports of a man with weapons on Otley Road at 2.47pm.
The incident occurred along the popular Otley Run pub crawl route.
A police spokesman confirmed the three victims' injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesman from West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Otley Road, Leeds at 2.47pm today to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons.
"Officers attended and located three people who had suffered injuries which are at this time not being treated as life threatening. A male suspect was located and detained.
"Enquiries are in their initial stages to determine the wider circumstances of what has taken place and further updates will follow. A number of police scenes remain in place and ensuring public safety remains our priority."
An eyewitness told GB News: "We saw a large part of the street was closed off and as we were walking closer the police officers told us to take a side street instead. There were several police cars and officers at the scene. An older woman was being tended to by the emergency services on the side of the road."

Eyewitnesses have said they were forced to hide in nearby businesses as the incident unfolded.
Bethany Connelly, who works at Heaney & Mill on Otley Road, told YorkshireLive: "It was really scary, because obviously, you don’t get this happening in Leeds. It’s not normal.
"You hear about this stuff in America, but not on your doorstep. It was really scary."
A spokesman from nearby Woodies Pub said: "The road has been closed off from the crossroads to St Chad's Drive. The road is also off limits for pedestrians, and they are having to walk through Becketts Park."
