A van outside King's Cross station burst into flames this morning, causing disruption for commuters.

Emergency services attended the scene on Euston Road between King's Cross and adjacent St Pancras.

While bus detours are currently in place, there are currently no rail disruptions from either station.

London North Eastern Railway confirmed that one entrance to the station has been closed in response to the incident.

A spokesman said: "Due to reports of a fire on the road between London Kings Cross and London St Pancras, the West entrance to Kings Cross Station has been temporarily closed."

A London Fire Brigade spokesman told GB News: "We were called to one van alight outside St Pancras train station on Midland Road. We were called at 1017 and the incident was under control by 11.01am

"The van was completely destroyed by the blaze. Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters from Kentish Town fire station were at the scene.

"Our 999 Brigade Control officers received eight calls alerting them to the fire.

Bus routes 46, and 214 are currently being diverted around Pancras Road.
