A woman charged with selling the dose of drug which killed Friends star Matthew Perry has agreed to plead guilty.

Jasveen Sangha, also known as the "Ketamine Queen" is the fifth and final defendant to make a deal with prosecutors in order to avoid the trial which was set to happen in September.

According to federal prosecutors, the 42-year-old has agreed to plead guilty to five federal charges which include supplying the Ketamine which led to Perry's death.

Sangha was described by prosecutors as a prolific drug dealer known to her buyers as the "Ketamine Queen".

The nickname was included in the official name of the case and used in court documents.

The dual US and UK national agreed to plead guilty to one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury, one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, and three counts of distribution of ketamine.

Prosecutors said she will officially change her plea to guilty at an upcoming hearing and sentencing will then be scheduled.

Sangha is facing up to 45 years in prison.

She was one of the primary targets of the investigation, alongside a doctor called Salvador Plasencia, who signed a plea deal in June.

Last year, three other defendants - Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Erik Flemin - agreed to plead guilty in exchange for their cooperation, including statements which implicated Sangha and Plasencia.

It is claimed that Chavez bought the ketamine from Sangha, and prosecutors allege he funnelled the drug to Plasencia by securing some from a wholesale distributor through a fraudulent prescription.

Prosecutors also allege Plasencia "charged Perry $2,000 (£1,500) a vial that cost Dr Chavez approximately $12 (£9)".

The beloved actor was found dead in his home in Los Angeles by Iwamasa, his assistant, on October 28 2023.

He had been getting ketamine from his regular doctor in order to treat depression, an increasingly common use for the drug which is a surgical anaesthetic.

According to court documents, Mr Perry had been taking the drug six to eight times a day before he died.

As he sought more ketamine than his doctor would provide, he began to buy it off Plasencia approximately one month before his death, and then started getting more still from Sangha about two weeks before his death, according to prosecutors.

Having struggled with addiction for much of his life, a foundation was set up in the actor's name after his death to help others struggling.
