Comedian Katherine Ryan has shared a health update following her second cancer surgery, posting a photo of her arm with a plaster on Instagram.

The 41-year-old captioned the image with the word "Done" alongside a tick and a red heart emoji.

This marks her second procedure in a week after revealing she had been diagnosed with melanoma.

Ryan announced last week that doctors had discovered a cancerous mole on her arm, twenty years after she first battled the disease.

The comedian had initially undergone surgery to remove the mole, but required a second procedure after it was confirmed to be cancerous.

Despite the health scare, Ryan appears to be in good spirits as she continues with her scheduled performances.

Ryan was previously diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in her 20s, which heightened her awareness when she noticed changes in a mole on her arm.

Despite her concerns, she struggled to be taken seriously by medical professionals.

"I know a lot about melanoma. I just felt like this mole wasn't right," she explained on her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.

Initially, doctors assured her there was nothing to worry about.

"The doctor was like 'I do melanoma on the NHS, it's all I do, I know all about skin cancer, I'm the man, this is not melanoma, goodbye'," she recalled.

However, Ryan remained concerned as the mole "kept changing."

Her instincts proved correct when test results confirmed it was indeed melanoma.

"He rang me today, and it did come back melanoma, and he said, 'it's early melanoma'," she shared last week.

Ryan detailed her frustrating journey to diagnosis on her podcast, explaining she had to go private after being dismissed by the NHS.

"The only reason that they agreed to remove it was because I went to a fancy, private place in South Kensington, and I paid them a grand," she said.

She had previously spent £300 at another private clinic for what she described as a "seven-minute consultation."

Despite being told the mole was "totally fine," Ryan persisted in seeking answers.

She later shared images of the mole on social media, urging fans to get checked.

The comedian clarified that she wasn't trying to insult the NHS when discussing her decision to go private.

Her experience highlights the importance of advocating for one's health when something doesn't feel right.

Despite her recent health challenges, Ryan is continuing with her comedy tour Battleaxe across the UK and Ireland.
