Jordan Peterson has told GB News that Sir Keir Starmer's pursuit of net zero is "complete insanity".
Speaking at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) in east London, the bestselling author and psychologist said that both Starmer and outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are "possessed by the same set of pathological ideas."
The 62-year-old told GB News: "I don't know as much about Starmer as I do about Trudeau. They're both possessed by the same set of pathological ideas, including this pursuit of net zero which is complete insanity. Every single bit of this preposterous pursuit is a lie.
"It's the worst kind of virtue signalling lie that elevates your own moral status as saviour of the planet without requiring a true sacrifice on your part."

He continued: "Ideationally, [Starmer and Trudeau] are very similar and its partly why there's been a strange union of the West in the last decade.
Exactly the same problematic situation confronts every Western country and every country in the world. The problems persist in the UK and Canada."
Peterson founded Arc in 2023 alongside Tory peer Philippa Stroud.
This year's speakers included Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, who said she was speaking up for "classic liberal values", also criticised “loopholes” in liberalism which have been "hacked" in recent decades.
