



Two passenger jets have collided at a Japanese airport, just weeks after a deadly crash in the region.
A Korean Air Lines plane scraped into a Cathay Pacific Airways aircraft at New Chitose Airport, on the island of Hokkaido today.
There were 298 passengers on the Korean Air Lines plane and none on the Cathay Pacific Airways aircraft.
The accident happened when the Korean Air plane was preparing for take-off, according to an airport official.
The fire department said that the Cathay Pacific aircraft was parked on the tarmac when the Korean Air plane struck it.
No injuries have been reported so far, Fuji TV has reported.
The incident comes after a Japan Airlines plane caught on fire after colliding with a Coast Guard plane on Tokyo's Haneda airport's runway.
No one on board the passenger jet perished, however, five Coast Guard crew members were killed in the blaze.
The Japan Airlines aircraft was carrying more than 300 passengers and the Coast Guard flight had six on board.
